Hamari Pahchan is a non-profit organization working to empower underserved communities across India through initiatives focused on education, menstrual health, livelihood support, and gender equity. Through grassroots outreach, the organization addresses structural inequalities while promoting awareness, access to resources, and long-term resilience among vulnerable populations.
As part of The Heat Index – Kolkata (THInK) initiative, Hamari Pahchan collaborated with THInK to support community outreach within informal settlements in Kolkata and enable engagement with women most affected by urban heat stress. The partnership helped facilitate survey-based data collection, distribution of educational pamphlets on heat-related health risks and preventive care, and awareness efforts tailored to women’s lived experiences, contributing to both immediate relief and broader understanding of climate vulnerability.
